Brief History of Our Law Firm

The focus of our law firm throughout its 42 year history has been to provide excellent service to our clients through unequaled effort.  Along the way, we have been privileged to handle legal matters across the breadth of Wisconsin and periodically adjoining states.

In the early years of the firm’s existence, we represented more than a dozen insurance companies as well as other businesses. As time passed, our practice progressed to a representation of victims, whether personal injury, workers' compensation or social security disability along with insurance, banking and business disputes. Nevertheless, we also continue to defend clients in virtually any type of civil conflict.

We pride ourselves on our work ethic.  It is a matter of indisputable record that we have tried more than 500 separate cases to verdict.  We have provided legal representation in more than 30,000 separate legal matters.  Necessarily, a legal practice of such dimension includes appellate work and we have appealed cases before the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, Supreme Court, among other appellate venues in more than 100 cases.

Experience

One of the most important factors in the decision to hire an attorney or law firm is the level of experience.  All of our attorneys have substantial experience in the field of law.  Five of our attorneys each have between 25 and 52 years of experience in practicing law in southeastern Wisconsin; see the individual biographical information on the following page for more detail.

Our staff of non-lawyer professionals, including legal assistants, includes many with 20 to 40 years of experience.
 

We have helped our clients recover tens of millions of dollars in insurance settlements, disability benefits, workers' compensation awards, verdicts and judgments.

“You won’t see us on television” means savings to clients.

Our law firm has never advertised on television.  In our opinion, many of the ads on television are demeaning to the legal professional and create a negative message about attorneys and the legal process to members of the general public watching the commercials.

We have never felt a need to advertise on television, with the overwhelming majority of our clients being referred to our law firm by satisfied past clients.

Because our law firm does not incur the expense of TV advertising or direct mail advertising, we do not have to pass those expenses on to our clients.

It is a simple matter of economics that law firms that do advertise on TV and do direct mail advertising have significant expenses as a result of such advertising, which must necessarily be paid from the fees they receive for handling matters for their clients.

Our law firm offers contingency fees for handling personal injury claims, auto accidents, motorcycle accidents, dog bites, slip and falls, wrongful death claims and many other types of insurance and injury claims that are LOWER than the fees charged by most other law firms, including most law firms that advertise on TV.  Our law firm does not spend money on TV advertising and direct mail advertising and we pass those savings on to our clients.

Contingent Fees Available for Most Cases

For almost all of the types of case that we handle where we are assisting the client in trying to collect compensation for injury, disability, wages, medical expense, insurance benefits or other monies owed, we offer representation on a contingency fee basis.  This means that there are no legal fees owed unless we win the case.  The contingent fee is clearly stated in a written agreement.  We only accept representations in cases that have merit or potential merit.   With the contingent fee representation, the client pays no money whatsoever for legal services unless we are successful in making a recovery in the case.
